Superior Automotive Service Pre-Purchase Inspection Terms and Conditions
Please review the following terms carefully—booking a Pre-Purchase Inspection with Superior Automotive Service online indicates that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms.
1. Inspection Duration
The Pre-Purchase Inspection at Superior Automotive Service typically takes around 75 minutes to complete.
2. Location Requirements for Inspection
Your vehicle must be present at one of Superior Automotive Service’s three locations at least 10 minutes before the scheduled inspection time.
3. Ownership and Distribution of the Report
The Pre-Purchase Inspection report is issued by the specific Superior Automotive Service center conducting the inspection and is intended for the individual named on the report. The center is not obligated to share the report with third parties but reserves the right to disclose information about potential safety issues identified during the inspection to concerned third parties.
4. Inspection Scope
The Superior Automotive Service Pre-Purchase Inspection involves an external check of various vehicle components. Due to time and cost constraints, dismantling parts for internal inspection is not included. Components are assessed visually and based on noise, functionality, and on-road performance. The inspection does not include a compression test or Tee Kay test.
5. Report Limitations
The Superior Automotive Service Pre-Purchase Inspection report reflects the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection. The vehicle’s condition may change over time due to factors such as regular wear and tear, driver habits, neglect, accidents, or the degradation of internal parts that were not inspected.
The report will not cover:
- Concealed defects
- Sporadic issues
- Problems that arise after the inspection
- Issues that cannot be detected visually or without dismantling parts of the vehicle
The Superior Automotive Service technician will exercise reasonable care and skill, however, Superior Automotive Service will not be held accountable for any defects or problems with the vehicle that were not identified or could not be identified during this inspection.
6. Battery and Alternator Testing
The testing of the 12v battery and alternator is conducted through both electronic testing and visual examination. It may not always be possible to confirm if the installed 12v battery is suitable for the vehicle. The battery will be tested according to its type and specification, as best determined by the Inspector, and where accessible without removing components. This test is limited to the 12v battery system and does not cover systems above 12v, including those found in electric and hybrid vehicles.
7. Road Test
As part of the inspection, a brief road test will be conducted at speeds up to 50 km/h unless otherwise specified in the report. The road test will only occur if the vehicle meets all legal requirements and is in a roadworthy condition.
8. Review of Documents
Any documents referenced in the report, such as the vehicle manual, maintenance records, damage reports, or repair records, are only noted as being available. These documents may originate from third parties and are not reviewed by Superior Automotive Service. Therefore, Superior Automotive Service is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of the information contained in these documents.
9. Exclusions from the Report
The report does not include details regarding vehicle registration, liens, financial encumbrances, or ownership status at the time of the inspection. This information may be obtained through a Superior Automotive Service Vehicle History Check or Vehicle Valuation Report, which can be purchased online or by contacting Superior Automotive Service.
10. Purpose and Limitations of the Inspection
The Pre-Purchase Inspection by Superior Automotive Service is designed to provide an overview of the vehicle’s mechanical and physical condition at the time of inspection. Given the limited nature of the inspection, no guarantee is provided regarding the vehicle’s condition at the time of purchase. Various factors should be considered when buying a used vehicle. For added protection, consider purchasing a Mechanical Breakdown Insurance policy.
11. Final Statement
The Pre-Purchase Inspection conducted by Superior Automotive Service offers our assessment of the vehicle’s condition based on a visual inspection and the specified tests performed at time of inspection. Since no dismantling or internal inspections are conducted Superior Automotive Service cannot be held liable for any defects that could only be discovered through further investigation or that may develop or become apparent after the inspection
